Former Viera Player to Make College Lacrosse Debut against the Florida Tech Panthers
Tyler Holland began playing lacrosse in middle school at Holy Trinity. As a freshman, Tyler transferred to Viera High where his love for the sport grew.
At Viera, Tyler focused on lacrosse full time. He played attack his first few seasons, but moved to midfield in the club season before his Junior year.
Tyler started at midfield for Viera in 2014 and 2015; culminating in the Hawks first ever district title, and an All-District selection for Tyler. He also played several years of club lacrosse for the Buzzards, Team One, Bearcats and Landsharks. Those teams played a major role in Tyler's progression as a player, and his love of the game.
Tyler accepted a scholarship at North Greenville University in South Carolina; a NCAA Division II men's lacrosse team in its second season. Tyler returns home with the North Greenville Crusaders to play our home team, the Florida Tech Panthers.
Please come out to watch one of our own play his first official college lax game, and support local college lacrosse
Game time is Saturday, February 13th at 7:00 PM at FIT. Be there!
Wildcat lax players loading food to deliver to The Eau Gallie High School Food Pantry.
Kudos to Coach Dan O’Halloran, Assistant Coach Chuck Landmesser, and all the members of the West Shore Lacrosse Varsity and JV teams on the success of your food drive. Thank you to all the West Shore lacrosse families who donated needed items and boxes to the drive, for without your generosity, it wouldn’t have been a success.
Thanks to all three teams for their efforts with a very special shout out to the following Wildcat varsity and junior varsity lax players for the extra effort above and beyond: Austin Altevogt, Nic, Jon, and Chris Saladino, Travis Hoibraten, Kyle Johnson, Adam Zoiss, Andrew Kearny, Zack Bursk, Wes Dennis, Luke Nevins, Malik Richardson, and Cheyenne Johnson. Upon hearing that rival Eau Gallie High School's Food Pantry was low on food, these players stepped up, proposed, organized, and pulled together as a team to execute a school-wide canned food / baby supply drive to provide needed food and supplies to Eau Gallie’s food pantry.
The food drive began on December 1st, #givingTuesday. The 240 diapers, 70 bottles of water, and the approximately 500 lbs. of canned vegetables, tuna, pasta, rice, formula, baby cereal, that were collected and delivered on December 14th and 16th will help feed many local families this holiday season. Rockledge Raider Lacrosse's past food drives and community spirit showed these Wildcats that they too could make this team effort happen to help others in need.
Another shout out to Joe Caporicci, EGHS lacrosse player, and to his mom, Stacey Caporicci; who provided support, facilitated contact with the EGHS food pantry for the teams to make the donation, located the majority of the boxes that held the food that was collected, and for donating food to our food drive. Joe also delivered the additional food and water to EGHS that was donated after the food drive ended. Thanks to West Shore Coach Dan O’Halloran for all his encouragement; Program Director, Tami Saladino, for her help as well as providing the huge vehicle that delivered the majority of the food. Finally, a shout out and thanks to Austin Altevogt, Nic, John, and Chris Saladino; these players delivered all the items after school to the EGHS food pantry.
Most importantly, through the teams' selfless efforts, these players have not only helped the community but experienced the joy of giving to others - the true meaning of the season!

College Coach signs Two Brevard Lax District Players!
Sebastian River's Kendall Holycross and Rockledge High School goalie Zoey Guignardi committed to play lacrosse at Mount Olive, a Division II school in North Carolina that in the third year of the program is already ranked in the top 20 nationally.
Guignardi has ranked statistically among the best high school goalies in the country, her save percentage in the top 10 nationally three straight years on the MaxPrep.com charts. She led the nation as a junior. There is no question if she becomes a star at Mount Olive, colleges will flock to Brevard.
